Fondazione Teatro Massimo and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti
join forces to support the new generations

A music-filled weekend for the Massimo Young Musicians

Palermo 19 June 2025 – The Fondazione Teatro Massimo di Palermo and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) have renewed their partnership and strengthened their commitment to the Massimo’s youth ensembles: the Massimo Kids Orchestra and the Massimo Youth Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Michele De Luca.

The collaboration confirms CDP‘s focus on the ethical value of the arts and its willingness to invest in the new generations. Thanks to CDP‘s support, the youth orchestras, made up of around 200 talented musicians aged between 7 and 23, can consolidate their activities, which see them increasingly involved in the cultural life of the city of Palermo, while also weaving important collaborations with other national musical realities, such as the JuniOrchestra of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia.

CDP‘s contribution allows the Teatro Massimo to further expand its offer of advanced musical training for young talents. Through this path of artistic growth, the youngsters develop not only musical skills, but also essential values such as cooperation, respect for diversity and a strong sense of belonging to a community.

A WEEKEND OF MUSIC FOR THE CITY OF PALERMO
On Saturday 21 June at 10.30 a.m., on the monumental steps of the Teatro Massimo, the Marching Band of the Massimo Kids & Youth Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Vincenzo Alioto, will perform in a free concert open for the city.
The event celebrates the Festa della Musica and will kick off the extensive programme of concerts that, also with the contribution of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, will engage the youth orchestras throughout the summer.
On Sunday 22 June, at 7 p.m., in the Sala degli Stemmi of the Teatro Massimo, the piano recital “Piano Young” will feature the young pianists Sara La Barbera, Claire Monteleone and Serena De Giorgi.
