Beatles Marathon, 21 May at the Teatro Massimo 24 hours of continuous music. Registration open to soloists, choirs, instrumental ensembles.
Twenty-four hours dedicated to the music of the Beatles in a marathon that will retrace the history of the Fab Four. Twenty-four hours during which everyone will be able to perform in a happening that will start on Saturday 21 May 2016 at 1.30 p.m. and end the following day at the same time. After the Satie marathon, which last July saw over a hundred performers take turns in Vexations – the longest concert in the history of music – for 24 hours, the Teatro Massimo is promoting an initiative of the same duration, but this time dedicated to the legendary Liverpool band.
The event will take place in the foyer of the theatre and will consist of a series of slots of fifteen minutes each during which soloists, choirs and instrumental formations of all kinds will be able to perform. The theatre will provide the artists with a backline complete with a bass amp, guitar amp, an electric piano, a piano, a complete drum set, and two vocal microphones. It will also be possible to book two consecutive slots.
